I have so many days were I can't wake up and nothing helps. I know I'm suppose to stay away from caffeine but even if I take a caffeine pill I fall asleep anywhere at anytime. I met a new friend and she says her Dr gives her adderrall because it's a form of narcolepsy. I never heard of this before or realized that might be what is happening to me. Was wondering if anyone else has tried that as a treatment. Haven't talked to my Dr yet. Want to know if it's a common thing with fibro patients.
I use adderrall to combat my fatigue. I only use it in emergencies (it took me more than 2 years to finish one script). I am given 5mg doses which I split in half. You have to be very careful as to what time of the day you take it because you have to anticipate the crash. I do not find it worth taking everyday. I found out about adderall for fibro through personal research and by reading scientific articles which I presented to my doctor. Thankfully she was open about it and I am happy having it as a good backup.
Definitely do what you have to do to function. I just worry about adderall but you sound like you will take it sparingly. I hope it works for you. I understand missing appointments. I have done that myself. Ssi doesn't care what your reasons are for missing appts which does not make any sense since you are trying to get help because you can't make it to a job. Lol. I've been on it since I was 35 but it is stressful trying to get it. I will pray that you get it. Good luck and we are here to answer any questions you have. Hugs.
I also use adderall when I have to concentrate, but it does not work when I am having a bad flare up.
I found that sugar and caffeine are the only things that can make me wake uo when things get really bad. And these are 2 foods that I avoid, but they do help me during a flare up
That's scary! I'm scared to use it but there's just some days that I need something. I feel like I'm missing out on my daughter's life and it's not fair to her or me. Thanks for that. In case I do get some I'll know to start slow.
Watch the doco 'take your pills' ... seriously do not go near adderall
