I Was Wondering If Anyone Had Concerns Of Having Lupus Instead Of Fibro.

I've been catching every virus I get near. I asked my doctor if Fibro caused that. She said it would cause the virus to be worse for you than others but would not make you catch more. She said auto immune disorders like Lupus would cause that. Shi many of the symptoms are the same how do you know for sure which you have?

To be fair nobody knows for sure if Fibro itself is an autoimmune condition. Doctors have been conditioned to speak like an authority regardless of their lack of knowledge in certain areas. One I've my doctors emphatically told me there was no link to nerve conditions and skin disorders... a few day later I read a paper stating the opposite, then another... and so on.

There are many overlapping symptoms. How high is your ANA titer? I believe most rheumatologists don't suspect Lupus till the titer is at least 1:320 or 1:640. Also do you have a rash?

This is probably confusing, so I'm sorry in advance! I have seen 3 Rheumatologists. The one I saw at the Cleveland Clinic indicated that I possibly have Lupus...the other two here in Alabama say that their tests prove I don't. But, 4 of my other doctors say I do have SLE...so it's a truly tricky diagnosis. I'd like to have another opinion from a different Rheumatologist, as my blood test results indicate I DO have Lupus. I personally feel that there is enough evidence to show that I have BOTH Fibromyalgia AND Lupus, but not just one.
