I have noticed that it get predominantly worse every year. I take morphine sulfate 60mgs a day and 30mg oxycodone. It's getting to the point I am getting scared to take my meds any more.Cause I am afraid of getting addicted to them. But this is the only thing That's stopping the pain. It's gotten so bad that I litter have to beds in my room. One regular bed and an air mattress that is comfortable enough to allow me to sleep. I just need some… read more

Members rallied around someone struggling with escalating fibromyalgia pain and fears of opioid dependency, sharing deeply personal experiences with long-term pain management, medication struggles, and the emotional toll of needing high doses just to function. Several members offered practical alternatives, including medical cannabis, CBD oil, Kratom powder, Diclofenac gel, Medtronic pain stimulators, and the importance of movement paired with rest to prevent stiffening. A recurring theme was the frustration of monthly drug testing, the challenge of balancing pain relief with concerns about addiction and mood changes, and the power of self-advocacy, pacing, and connecting with others who truly understand the reality of living with chronic pain.

Oh honey, I am so sorry to hear that your fibro is so bad. Yes, I find I can't overthink how I feel or even what I take. I have Vicodin and take it as needed for bad pain. I know my rheumatologist had my urine tested for the Vicodin...I guess they want to make sure I am not selling it on the corner - honestly that angered me. Do what makes you feel better, indulge yourself in something you love. I find if I treat myself to something small that I want I do feel better. I can't wait for someone to do it for me so I just go on and do it!

So sorry you are in so much pain,,I can relate for sure.I was diagnosed with Fibro 18 years ago.I remember when they sent me physical therapy..OMG I quit after 3 treatments.I could tell they really did not understand the pain of Fibro. Also I can remember my doctor saying to exercise..I wanted to slap him.,and saying are you kidding me?????? I realized I had to find out what can help me...because only I knew my body. There are so many factors to Fibro, did I get sleep last night? Am I having a lot of stress in my life? How much did I have to do in a day.? Do I have any support..living with Fibro? what is my financial worries, now that my life has changed? How frustrated or angry am I since my life changed.with having Fibro?Fibro covers so many areas and each one of the above..can cause pain.due to stress,,and pain.I have found that the one thing that causes Major pain is emotional upsets..OMG will bring a flare every time..like someone driving over me with a truck a few times. What helped me was talking to Fibro people.., I found Fibro friends through support groups..and have now have them for friends for a lifetime..because they understand what it is to live with Fibro.I don't need to prove it..they live it and know it.It is a catch 22 on laying in bed..if you stay in bed for too long it causes way too much pain..you stiffen up and can not move.it seems to help if you can walk and do a few things..then rest...alternate..because whatever we do in repetition..after 10-15 mins..we can become stiff and sore..but little by little alternate..when you feel the pain rising rest..but moving does seem to help..unleash some of the pain...but do it slowly...then rest..you will figure it out..don't be hard on yourself..the pain is real..and we all feel it..gentle hugs your way...I take one vicodin if I know I have chores to do...I know it will last up to 3-4 hours..but I also rest in between chores,as I feel the pain rising..try not to overdue..that is what causes flares...Gentle hugs your way

I am also so sorry that you are bad. but if you are taking those medications.... and most of do... you are already addicted. I have had several friends go to rehab for this. I took them for 18 years before getting of oxycodone, morphine, Hydrocodone, Dilaudid and fentanyl patches. at one time I took all but the fentanyl patches at one time because the pain was so bad. I am a school teacher.. in the bible belt so going to rehab was out of the question so my husband and I went through it ourselves one summer not too long ago. I lost 47 pounds and almost my mind but I got off of most of the medications. I can't live a normal working life without some pain medications .
I have posted about Medtronic Pain Stimulators before.. but I have one that is placed in my back that helps with my overall pain. it is worth the surgery. if you would like more information on it just let me know. blessings for all who hurt like we do,,

I was just talking to my doctor about this. She gave me a pamphlet on CBD oil and told me that it is used a lot on the west coast for pain. She said her brother uses this and he swears by it. It is derived from hemp (yes marijuana) but has a minute amount of the plant that gives you that high feeling. I havent done a lot if research on it yet, but I am hopeful this works! I hope tou can find some relief soon. I will keep you posted if i try this and i feel it works. If any one has tried this, please respond and let us know your experience with it.
