I ride one at the local gym and it has a TV screen in front of me showing me a beautiful landscape and road with fellow riders as I ride my way through forest or on the beach (I can choose the type of ride at the beginning - even music). I love it very much because I not only exercise but relax very much by seeing the tv srceen like a virtual cycling adventure.

I ride a bike, Not a stationary one, But I can imagine it would be the same. lol. Point is, It helps a lot! Days that I do not ride or get my heart elevated a little I feel more pain in my legs. The bad part of the deal is when you first start it is horrible! The pain is tingling all up and down, But I am sure thats just from not being active like that with your legs. A couple of days you start to feel the difference though, I have not stopped since. even if its around the block.
