@A MyFibroTeam Member, you will do fine. I was on a different antidepressant for years and recently switched to Cymbalta. It is not a cure but it helps. You will do fine. Always go easy on yourself and practice self compassion.

You should be okay. It can take quite a while for an antidepressant to get into your system and have an effect. Also, both of these are relatively the same sort of antidepressants so you really should not be affected at all. You may notice some side effects when you start Cymbalta but that is not because you stopped Lovan. The side effects from starting Cymbalta wear off quickly in a few days. I had trouble sleeping the first day but was fine after that. Also, don’t let your mind play tricks with you when you start an antidepressant. Like I said, it can take several weeks or more for them to get fully into your system and start working. What you feel before that are side effects or your imagination. Be patient. I have been on a variety of different antidepressants for 25 years and they have saved my life.

I am sorry I wish I could give you a good answer. Me being anti Pharma drugs only have experience with very few. I do know some of them take up to a month to get in to your system. Like wise coming out of your system. Doctors only know what they are told by pharmaceutical companies or patients. Remember even though they do their best to help they are still not perfect and practicing medicine. My mother was bi-polar she is not longer with us on earth. They have learned a lot since then however they did much pharmaceutical damage to her trying to help. Your health is best handled with you being active in decisions. Sometimes the treatment is not for everyone. Be careful with your health it is all we have. Don't be afraid to research the meds yourself and If you have to put your foot down and refuse something you think is causing you to get worst. Most doctors do not like that but again it is your body and your health. Just beware some of these drugs cause permanent damage. Especially the anti depression and anti anxiety drugs. Good fresh not manufactured food helps me a lot. I try to stay away from sugar, high carbs, dairy and use meat sparingly. It helps my pain immensely. Even though it hurts to walk, bike ride and exercise I do it and it also help my pain. Good luck with your journey and I hope you find great relief. Massages Blue emu and hot baths are some of my tricks. Perhaps you need those drugs. The way I see it Lexapro is not going to help me get a job and pay my bills. That is why I have anxiety. Fixing the issues that cause my anxiety is the only way I am going to find mental peace. Again good luck in your path. You know high stress also causes much physical pain. Sometime relieving the stress will help more that you can imagine.
