Diagnosis FM/a Testing
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi,

Can anyone tell me how Fm/a blood testing works my rheumatologist would not order the test for me. My primary doctor ordered it for me but won't do the blood draw.
Can anyone tell me where they got the blood draw from?

Thank you,
Danielle Batista

There is a test called Fm/a from a company called epigenetics. It was created several years ago apparently there are bio markers specific to fibro. My rheumatologist doesn't want to order it. My primary did it for me but can not draw the labs. I'm trying to find a place that will draw the labs for me as the testing is done in their labs

yes! it is 99 percent accurate, they are actually fixing to do a trial run with the hopeful cure for this mess of an illness, go look at fm/a test . I just got back my blood results and tested positive, most all medical insurances are covering the test now due to its proven accuracy.

I've not heard of Fm/a used to "diagnose" RA. I live with RA and went back to my lab result papers (I keep copies of everything/anything done). The serum tests used to diagnose my RA were - The "RF" - Rheumatoid factor blood test. The "ANA" - Antinuclear Antibody blood test. The "ESR" - Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate blood test. The "CRP" - C-Reactive Protein blood test. and the "CCP" - Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide blood test.

As far as I know they can’t tell by a blood test, if you have fibro. That’s after seeing my GP of course and two rheumatologists! They do blood work to rule out other illnesses but not to tell you it’s fibro. The pressure point test is the only way I’ve heard of that they can diagnose fibro!
