How Often Do You Take Pain Killers On Top Of Prescribed Medication?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am taking the maximum dose of Cymbalta and Gabapentin 600mg daily and just wondering how often people need to take additional pain killers on top of their meds ?

Watching tv and hearing how bad the drug problem is, no one talks about the people who have to take pain meds daily just to get out of bed.

I usually take 30mg cocodamol 3 times a day along with 50mg amitriptaline and topiramate. I'd take more amitriptaline but it dries my mouth out so much that I can't talk properly and I need to talk for my job. I can't take ibuprofen for the pain as it affects my asthma so I've ended up taking addictive painkillers instead and now all I hear about in the press are stories about epidemics of drug addicts and it's stressing me out. Don't know what to do. Lyrica didn't help me at all, just helped me gain weight

Not very often at all. Maybe once in a fortnight, and it is usually at night when the pain is so bad, I cannot sleep, and I haven’t had a hot bath in salts, and cannot be bothered getting up and running one.

I take oxycodone 5 times a day. Flexeril 3 times and I ibuprofen 1 to 3 times. I also just started ropinerol to help with leg cramps. I have been on the fibro meds over the 30 years of having it but they don't work or I had bad side effects from them. I also had neck surgery and have 3 herniated and 2 building discs in my back. So these meds are not only for fibro. I hope you find what works for you.
