A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

My hands suffer with stiffness and I get these electric type zaps. The rhemmy is still trying to sort out fibro from RA. I get really sore joints also

My hands have been so sore for months and I finally went to my doctor last week. I use Voltaren rub all over this pain ridden body of mine so he prescribed a cream with 10% diclofincac in it. They have to make it at the pharmacy and not all pharmacies do it! I haven’t tried it yet but I hope it works! He also advised me to get a paraffin wax melter for your hands. Apparently it melts the wax then put your hands in and when you take your hands out, the wax forms and drys to your hands and the heat is supposed to be so soothing and help the pain so much! I haven’t bought one yet cause I’m so tired of spending all this money on stuff and it never works but if the cream doesn’t help, I’ll try one!

I have nerve and tendon damage plus arthritis in both hands due to working hard manual jobs my full life, fibro has made it worse to the extent i loose control over my hands and drop things for no reason, ive lost feeling in one side of one of my hands and i get horrific sharp shooting pains followed by dull aches continually. When i wake in the morning my hands are claw like and i have to work them to make them function.

Don’t buy one, call your local salon to see if they have one. You can try theirs to see if it helps before you buy one. I like to sit in a hot bath.

I had something similar in the joints of my hands and left foot. became cold one day working on my boat and woke up abruptly the next morning with my joints in extreme pain. Stayed that way for two Mnths and found it difficult to do anything much during that time ... I think they call it Para Arthritis but not totally sure as it's hard to research, like much of anything related to Fibro! Basically as I understand it's all the pain of Arthritis but without the joint / bone degradation / inflammation. Still getting it on and off. I was tested for RA via Blood and came back negative however it's not a reliable test. Had hand pain for the past decade but not to this degree!!
