Members responded to a question about whether burning sensations are universal in fibromyalgia, with the overwhelming consensus being that symptoms vary widely from person to person and can even change or disappear over time. Several members shared their own experiences, including burning skin that comes and goes unpredictably, stiffness and numbness that lasts for days, nerve pain, severe cramping, and sensations like pins or insects under the skin, with many noting that doctors often lack the knowledge to explain which symptoms stem from fibro versus other conditions. A recurring theme was the frustration of navigating treatment options when medications either don't work or cause difficult side effects, and the comfort of connecting with others who truly understand the complex and shifting nature of living with fibromyalgia.

I think it would be true to say that the symptoms of fibro can come and go as well as change over time. If you had asked me last week if I got the burning skin sensation I would have had to say no, more aching muscles and nerve pain.... However I woke up yesterday with my skin burning, especially around my ribs and abdomen. I awoke this morning with the sensation gone!!! Fibromyalgia is the condition that just keeps on giving!

I get terribly stiff especially in bed and upper back then my arm goes numb. It will last a few days then gone. I try not to overdo that's when I feel the worst

No. I have had it for 30 years and thankfully never had burning sensation. Fibro has so many symptoms from muscle pain to trouble sleeping and hundreds of other symptoms. Most of us have at least these 2 symptoms usually many more. Thank god we all don't have every symptom that some people have with fibro. We are all finding new symptoms of fibro from asking questions on here. We know more about it than any doctor will ever know. I hope you all have a great day. Hugs
