Yes, I do. That's what they call myosfascial. The swelling is because the ache is deep in the muscles & mostly in knots. The ache is dull. Also if you can get your doc to prescribe DICLOFENAC CREAM It has helped me. Rub on where it hurts & swells. Check if there's a physiatrist that gives BOTOX injections for your pain in your area. I get Botox injections once/3 months & my pain had gone down to a 2-0 daily. Ask your doc for a referral for the physiatrist. But make sure he does Botox injections for pain.

@MaryMahoney Hi, it's Viv. I do as I have Myosfascial/fibromyalgia & cervical dystonia on my neck & shoulders. That's why exercises on my head/neck helps. I've posted the exercises on the Q&A section of this site. See those 3 straight lines on top, click, then click again on Q&A, in search type exercises. Scroll down till you find LisaCabrey ask me on exercises @ SiuViv. These exercises are simple, easy to do while lying in bed or sitting down. They also helped me get rid of my fibro fog. Other exercises there helps limber up every part of your body so the stiffness you feel when you wake up goes away. These exercises have to be done daily but it definitely works. Let me know if you have questions. Hope this will help you. Take care. 😍😍😍

Thanks Viv, I get severe pain in those areas but I'm rather fleshy so I can't tell if I swell or not. It feels like it. This diclofenac cream really helps? I'm pretty sure my US government insurance wouldn't cover botox injections even for pain though. Good night,
Kathryn

I definitely get neck and shoulder pain but that’s where all my trouble started! Three failed shoulder surgeries, stress from the pressure WSIB put on me and voila, fibromyalgia!! I don’t notice any swelling but like someone else said, I do get a lump on my right shoulder!!
