Exercise Equipment Recommendation?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Im trying to regain some control again, the fibro and meds have graciously added at least 70lbs pretty much all in my belly since all this started, and i cant stand it anymore. Ive found aquasizes and love it and have some success with yoga at home, but my balance isnt great and im so big the poses are hard. Does anyone have recommendations about equipment to invest in that i could zone out on and can gentle enough even for some of the not good days? Treadmill? Elliptical? Others? Thanks!!

@A MyFibroTeam Member I have the same issue with my weight, but have found that eating 6 small meals a day helps keep your metabolism up which helps you to lose weight. Trust me I didn't believe my doctor when he told me this either but it really does work. I also use a treadmill and a stationary bike lucky enough to have at my apartment complex. I can't do a lot at one time yet but I try to get 10 minutes on each at least every day a couple times a day period when it's nice out I try to walk around my apartment complex at least a couple times a day to get the sunshine that we all need. Also if you drink sodas cut those out as much as possible because they're really add weight for your belly. I hope this helps you it is help me don't expect large pounds come off at a time. My doctor says slow weight loss will stay off. God bless and have a wonderful day

There are different stationary bikes that you can use TeressaSpainhourHenderson. Also their is the hand pedal. It is also good to use any of the sit down weight machines. You can use bands . They are great for multiple exercises. I have the loop bands and I have the ones with handles. They come in different resistance strengths. You can just sit in a chair and work your entire body at home. You can find multiple sources on using them on pinterest or Instagram or just google it. Also using light leg and arm weights to help build muscle strength are great. You dont have to do alot all at once. Start with 10 min. If you can only walk 5 minutes do that . Every little bit counts. Sometimes when im having a major pain day i might do mini workouts in like 5 or 10 minute intervals throughout my day until i get at least 20 to 30 minutes of exercise. I try not to get less than 3 days a week of exercise in. Trust me it does help make a difference.

I ordered a treadmill! I'm pretty excited about it, found a great deal on amazon, and reviews were excellent for it. Big pluses with amazon delivering right to my door, and the reviews said this one had really easy set up. I am pretty sure my son will use the treadmill too, he is one of those crazy people who LIKES running. weirdo. lol nah actually I always wanted to be a runner. It seems like one of those amazing ways to release stress and feel free. I loved it when I was a kid, but only when it was around the playground and free. Like Phoebe in friends!! Sadly my body hasn't liked the idea in a long time. But with this at least I can walk more. I'm in Manitoba, so our weather can make it tricky to walk outside. Most winters it is blisteringly cold, this one isn't so bad, but there is a lot of ice. I'm scared of what slipping on the ice could do to me. Thanks for all the suggestions, and keep them coming! I am all for trying new things and different options! Thanks so much everyone!! xx

My dr recommended a recumbent stationary bike. It gives me control of how fast or far I can go on any given day. The seat is very comfortable and the back is extremely supportive.

I just got an exercise bike plus a gel seat pad so I can sit down in not too much pain. I try to ride it 20 mins a day. So far so good. I can't walk to far because of unsteadiness. I hate my weight gain. Ugh
