Irregular Pulse
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

One month ago i saw my Dr about an irregular pulse.I had blood tests and ECG which was normal. It happens or is more noticeable when i go to bed.I just wondered if this is a problem with other Fibro sufferers and if it could be related to stress.Sometimes I feel my heart jumping in my chest.Dr said it was nothing to worry about but as it is a recent problem i would like to know your opinion.
many thanks

Please see a cardiologist. You can be hooked up with a Holter monitor which you wear home for 24 hours. That constantly records your heartbeat and any irregular beats that occur could be seen... An overactive thyroid can also cause similar symptoms.

I get irregular heartbeats also. The heart is a muscle. Fibromyalgia is a neuro-muscular illness that can affect muscles throughout our bodies. The heart is not immune. It is very frightening, I know. When I am flaring, the palpitations are much worse. It is a revolving cycle because the palpitations make us frlghtened which in turn make the irregular heartbeats worse. Do see a good cardiologist though to rule out underlying heart disease or an electrical problem. Hugs....

i have had an irregular heartbeat for 25 years. You can go to a cardiologist and wear a heart halter for a day or 2. It will show the doctor how often your heart is skipping. I wore one for 30 days. Not fun. I just go see dr every 6 months to get a ekg and make sure nothing is getting worse. Mine is nothing to worry about, my doctor said. It is still scary when it is skipping bad. It will ease your mind to be seen by a cardiologist and ruling out any problems. Good luck. Hugs.
