Here is a tip even though I live in Canada. Many people with FM also suffer from depression. In my case the depression is very profound. When I applied for disability, I focused on the depression, which is more accepted than FM as a whole. Also, I used a lawyer since I felt it was so important that I go on disability. I really could no longer work. It is worth paying a lawyer in the long run since they will help so much with forms and getting supporting medical reports. They also add credibility to your case. For me it was money well spent.
Hi all thank you for your help. Could I still get help from citizens advice centre as they said if I want to appeal I have to send in a letter?
You need to appeal @A MyFibroTeam Member straight away and a lot of people are getting turned down because "its only fibro that they've got" its a load of crap I know. Did you put down that you are depressed on your form? If you did like what @A MyFibroTeam Member said make that your main thing. I've applied for PIP, I'm on ESA at the moment and I've got to go for a board on the 14th of Feb. On my PIP forms I put on how my back is causing me trouble cos thats how it all started off, since my back has been really bad and that was the beginning of October I've since been diagnosed with fibro. So appeal, I'm not sure but I think you get a few chances to appeal. I hope this helps. Xx
It's independent living it's a benefit you can get if you have fibro so they say so I put in for it but got refused it and was just wondering if anyone els got it
