I swear, these hot flashes, night sweats and chills are going to make me lose my mind. It's January; the thermostat is set on 64° and I'm wearing a tank shirt, shorts on some days. My 2 cats are cold and want to be sitting on my lap...which only makes me hotter and sweater!

Members connected over the challenging overlap of menopause and chronic health conditions like fibromyalgia, sharing that hot flashes and night sweats have them lowering thermostats to the low 60s, sleeping with multiple fans year-round, and wearing summer clothes in winter while pets and family members freeze. Several members discussed attempted solutions including hormone replacement therapy (though some cannot use it due to medical history), heating blankets used with open windows, layered clothing, and standing outside in freezing weather for relief, with one member noting medications like Cymbalta and Neurontin may worsen sweating. A recurring theme was the exhausting reality of managing temperature regulation alongside chronic pain and illness, met with humor, solidarity, and the shared acknowledgment that this particular combination of symptoms feels truly miserable.

I had a hysterectomy when I was 32 and I am on oral estrogen. Have you thought about any hormone replacement therapy?

Also could be side effect if medication. I still am like that but was so much worse when I was taking cymbalta.
