Thank you to everyone who left feedback on Methadone; I will keep it in mind when I visit the Fibrospecialist for physical exam and securing good action plan for my treatment. Please keep me in your prayers and/or positive thoughts for good recommendations so that I can live even a halfway normal existence; I do NOT want to be so drugged that I cannot function. Gentle hugs to all my fibro friends and team on this website. May God keep all of you safe, happy and as pain free as possible. To those in Midwest experiencing major accumulation of snow overnight while we should have been sleeping! Allow extra travel time this morning and remember: Better to arrive late than not at all.

I wouldn't go there to be honest. Too much of a gamble as you may think you don't have an addictive personality until you try it. That's the point it kicks in.
I too have tried all old and new meds and for last 6 months im now chemical free. My only daily pain relief is cannabis, which my pain clinic has also recommended as my best course of medication. The only downside to that is cannabid is not legal here in the UK unless you have a certain type of MS. It has changed my life I can assure you of that so go get some high CBD % Cali and get baking some nice cookies :)

Be care methadone isn't for just anyone. It does take away the pain. Takes a lot more a way from your life just like how fibromyalgia does. Pain free. Don't take it unless ur pain is unbearable. Safe not sorry..

I've been treated with methadone b4 and i wouldn't recommend it at all. Yes it helps with the pain, however it changes ones personality. And coming off of it is NOT EASY!

I hear methadone does work well for pain and for a longer time like a day and a half...my husband used to be a heroin user many years ago...but he said its really tough to come off of...worse than heroin because you dont feel normal for months afterwards. if they will try oxycodone. its stronger and faster acting. thats what they have prescribed now for break through pain.
