I'm tired of handing in sick notes every month having to prove how sick I am.
I had to quit my job 5 years ago because of my health.

Since then I've had to jump through hoops applying for benefits. It was so stressful I almost ended up in hospital because of the stress.

Now they are changing of to Universal Credit and again making people jump through hoops just to prove your sick!

Any one else feeling stressed because of benefits?

Members shared their exhaustion and frustration with the benefit system's relentless demands to prove their disabilities, describing the emotional toll of monthly sick notes, denied claims despite serious conditions, and the constant stress of fighting for financial support they desperately need. Several members offered practical advice, including asking doctors for three-month sick notes instead of monthly ones, working with disability advocates like Champion Disability to navigate the complex application process, and documenting every medical condition and doctor visit thoroughly to strengthen their cases. A recurring theme was the financial devastation of being too sick to work yet denied benefits, with many relying on family to avoid homelessness and expressing deep frustration that the system seems designed to exhaust people into giving up rather than provide the help they need.

Yep. I had to stop work in Feb 08'. I've been fighting to get my disability since 09'. I just got a new lawyer and we're waiting on a hearing date which I don't understand. With all that I have wrong with me I should have gotten it yrs ago!! If it wasn't for my family I'd be on the streets.

I fought for 4 years and finally after I got a crushed foot and had surgery got the disability benefit ... the fibro and back and neck and arm and leg pain wasn’t enough on its own... I went with champion disability I found online and they got me taken care of within the last year I tried . Like 6 mos... it takes a lot of paperwork and doctors visits for paperwork to fill out by them and me .. finally ... we were on brink of being homeleas because my husband lost his job too .. took him almost a year to get the house stuff straightened out ... we are still struggling financially .. his new job has good benefits but not the best pay... works for state of Missouri at a prison.. state benefits are good and insurance does well but I also added part b and pay almost nothing for doctor and hospital... meds program isn’t the best and I don’t have part d as it doesn’t do well w Scripts .. we just use his insurance .. prayers and hugs .. give champion a call they are a great help !! They fought for me and got the job done ..
