Members overwhelmingly confirmed experiencing sudden, unpredictable bloating that often requires changing clothes, with many describing painful episodes that seem unrelated to what they eat or drink and can strike without warning. Several members shared strategies that have helped, including taking Gas-X or generic equivalents, Beano, and keeping anti-gas and nausea medications on hand at all times, while a few noted that endoscopy revealed underlying conditions like gastritis or hiatal hernia that contributed to their symptoms. A recurring theme was the frustration of fibromyalgia often occurring alongside IBS, the emotional toll of unpredictable flare-ups that derail daily plans, and the importance of tracking patterns like barometric pressure changes to better manage symptoms and maximize quality of life.

I have had bloating on and off since i was diagnosed. Sometimes it gets really bad. You may need to get a endoscope to rule out gastritis or hialtel hernia. I have had both and they cause bloating. I would definitely ask your doctor about it. I hope you figure it out soon. Hugs

@A MyFibroTeam Member, the disease is worse during la nina and el nino years (this is a la nina year). You will feel better when the barometric pressure is more stable. I track the pressure in my area and plan ahead when I can. It isn't a cure all but allows me to maximum life by getting extra sleep and doing a few other things that help me function better when weather events are brewing.
