Know Of Any Good Research Studies Connecting Muscle Tension And Fibromyalgia?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question ๐Ÿ’ญ

Does anyone here happen to know of any really good research studies that I can look into that are based on the connection between muscle tension and fibromyalgia?

My body never relaxes I can just be watching tv and notice I am all tensed up itโ€™s the same when in bed. I get massages and he says my whole body is bad and has to constantly tell me to relax which I canโ€™t even do during a massage if you learn anything please let me know I just want my body to shut down for once.

@A MyFibroTeam Member yes! Exactly, it seems my mind has had fight or flight issues since I was a child so I wouldn't be surprised if that caused all of this fibro stuff. I'll post here if I come across anything ๐Ÿ‘

Hi! @A MyFibroTeam Member I have that awful tension that is so very painful...so very pervasive. My doctor told me that the body was in the fight or flight mode when that happened. Now, in addition , I find the neurological pain that occurs throughout my body causes burning sensations and itching as well. Sooo....when you find out more, let us all know. It seems as if new things pop up just when it seems as if I am getting better. Discouraging!!

@A MyFibroTeam Member I know exactly what you mean about the muscle tension. Sometimes, in the evening, I can be sitting relaxing, and the muscles in my legs and across my back will be so tightly wound! The word "relax" doesn't even apply. Right now, my arms, legs, and shoulders are so tense. And I'm not stressed out. I believe it has to be fibro-related.

While not on tension, I found a nice little study on fascial tissue and fibro.

I actually found this originally from my wife, who also is a massage therapist.
