Has anyone tried devil's claw and/ or Kava Kava for pain? What were your results? Because of my job and my past addiction issues, I have to be so mindful of what I take for pain. Thanks in advance for any advice, experience, and insight.

Members shared their experiences with natural supplements for fibromyalgia and chronic pain management, with many finding relief through magnesium glycinate for pain, sleep, and mood, while others recommended turmeric, ginger, milk thistle, and B complex vitamins as part of their pain management routines. Several members described specific products that helped during flares, including an HTP-calm blend containing kava kava and St. John's wort that one member found more effective than prescription pain medication for fibromyalgia symptoms, especially during flares with heightened sensory sensitivity. A recurring theme was the importance of experimenting with different natural options, being mindful of interactions, and finding what works best for individual bodies, with the original poster reporting initial success with kava kava for pain relief.

When I was going through menopause and became rather homicidal (I only wish I was kidding--the rages were horrendous). Doc put me on prozac which I ditched after 2 weeks and went into a health store and asked for something that would curb my rages. They sent me over to this section and recommended HTP-calm that has 5-HTP and kava kava, st. johns wart and a bunch of other stuff. Now I take it during a bad flare -- especially if the flare involves heightened sensitivity to sound/smell/ etc. it will settle me. I have vicodin for my arthritis issues and frankly, it doesn't seem to work as well as 5-HTP for fibro.

Do you take magnesium? One of my supplements. Also, super B complex and grape seed extract.

Yes, I take 1100mg daily. It used to work well for pain, but have not seen any improvement lately. It's also good for the immune system, so I will keep taking it. Thanks ๐Ÿ˜†
