Members shared their favorite low-impact exercises that help manage symptoms without triggering post-activity crashes, with swimming and water-based activities emerging as the clear favorite across the board. Several members described how they personalize their aquatic routines by varying time and intensity based on daily energy levels, using flotation belts and foam weights in deep water, or creating their own exercises like leg lifts and bike movements in the pool. A recurring theme was that while these activities still cause some physical discomfort, the mental health benefits, improved sleep, and sense of maintaining independence make them invaluable tools for coping with chronic illness.

Exercising in the pool. I can do leg lifts and pretending to ride a bike and everything in the pool.

I prefer the deep end too but our pool is only 5 feet. I do go to the deepest part and do leg lifts etc. I kind of built my own routine also. Just get some exercises that get your whole body.

Me too!
Water exercises. I've made up my own routine with help from the internet.
I wear a flotation belt and use foam barbells and workout in the deep end of the pool.
I pace myself and do my own thing.
I wear wax earplugs to zone the noise out.
