The areas of inflammation are near my joints, not directly on the joints. The lumps are malleable and visible by sight, that’s how large they become; they are never completely go away but some days they are larger than others. I tested negative for RA but I do have osteoarthritis; my mother’s hands are severally disfigured from RA though. My lumps are very different than hers as mine actually look like fat deposits I’d say but they charge constantly and are painful so I do not think that’s what it is. Plus although I’ve put on weight, I’m not really overweight. I’ve researched it; however, nothing sounds like what I have.
I have arthritis in several joints, and yes, I do have pain nearby the joint..I don't.have any nodules, not that I can tell anyway. I know some people with rheumatoid arthritis can have disfiguring nodules and similar symptoms. I have osteoarthritis and it runs in the family. Strangely, it disfigured my grandmother's hands slightly.
My lumps are above my wrists, around my knees, hips, chest, and so on; my wrists and knees look terrible when they are very inflamed not to mention the pain.
