Does Anyone Have Sciatica?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Good morning beautiful people...I was wondering if anyone here suffers with sciatica? If yes, have you tried massage therapy or acupuncture? If yes, which worked better for you? I want to try these, but not sure which one. Thanks and have a good day.

@A MyFibroTeam Member. And yay to acupuncture and less pain! My physiotherapist advised me to come monthly for one treatment to avoid severe flare ups! Waiting 8 months was not wise as I pursued my endless other options

I am still pain-free and the effects of the acupuncture actually seem to get better each day. I have scheduled my next appointment for maintenance treatment and will keep you posted. Thank you.

I have had massage, chiropractic, shock wave therapy and acupuncture all covered by my CUPE benefits but as much as all of them bring relief, three treatments in a row weekly of acupuncture usually provides me two months of less hip, neck and back pain and less anxiety! My physiotherapist is also a trained acupuncturist so he bills under physio for which I am covered for many treatments ! The costs would be totally prohibitive otherwise so I am very grateful!

I had acupuncture and I personally found this more helpful to me. But everyone is different. We are all individuals with this condition. I would have continued with the acupuncture but it became too expensive for me long term. I think relaxing massages were nice, but I did feel a difference in pain reduction for longer hours with the acupuncture.
Much love

Yes my hips are very painful along with my low back and the kinesiologist does water therapy with me and nothing has brought relief like that along with acupuncture ! I am hoping for an MRI on my low back as it’s also getting so much worse. Nonetheless, keeping moving makes a difference even if it is slow !
