Members shared mixed experiences with the combination of Lyrica, Cymbalta, and amitriptyline for managing pain, with weight gain emerging as the most commonly reported challenge on Lyrica, including one member who lost 48 pounds after discontinuing it. Several members found amitriptyline helpful for sleep and pain management despite initial drowsiness, while reactions to Cymbalta and Lyrica varied widely, from mood changes and breathing difficulties to no side effects at all. A recurring theme was the trial-and-error nature of finding the right medication combination, with members emphasizing that individual responses differ greatly and what works for one person may not work for another.

With Lyrics I gained a lot of weight quick making it hard to breath, with Cymbalta it changed my attitude. I was very hateful. My mom and boyfriend at the time told me I should stop taking it. They did all that but didn't help with the pain or anything else.

ThankYou. ...I've noticed most have gained weight with Lyrica...makes me worry I can't afford to gain more weight....I've cut alot of salt and sugar down which I can see improvement and I've grown a vegetable garden. It's a long road ahead....thankyou again for your input.

Amitriptyline 30mg, but only comes in 10's or 25's, so I take 25. Has helped me quite a bit. Took ages to get used to them because they made me very drowsy at first. I got careless and missed taking them for a few days, also over did it physically, and I am paying for it now.
I can categorically say, yes amitriptyline helps me and I won't be going off them again in any hurry!
I have also found that the 2mg of melatonin every night has improved my sleep enormously.
Still having a bad week with pain but I know from experience that it will get a bit better soon.

I tried Lyrica & had bad side effects, so the doc weaned me from that onto Cymbalta which gave me the same bad side effects. Everyone reacts differently though, so it's trial & error for each individual unfortunately. Best of luck in finding what is best for you. Susan
