I am looking to start a diet, hoping that it will help to ease inflammation. Has anyone been on a diet that is effective and easy to stick to?

Members exploring diets to ease inflammation shared a variety of approaches, with gluten-free, sugar-free, and low FODMAP diets emerging as the most commonly recommended strategies, though many acknowledged these restrictions can be expensive, socially challenging, and difficult to maintain perfectly. Several members described eliminating specific trigger foods including nightshades like tomatoes and peppers, artificial sweeteners, caffeine, onions, garlic, and dairy, with some working alongside dietitians to combine multiple approaches like autoimmune protocols or managing functional hypoglycemia. A recurring theme was the trade-off between strict adherence and quality of life, with members honestly sharing their struggles with cravings and slip-ups while emphasizing that even imperfect efforts often lead to noticeable improvements in symptoms and overall well-being.

Man, is say no diet was easy to stick to. Low Fodmap combined with low inflammation diet with a dietitian. Now I've added functional hypoglycaemia diet as well! Easy, no. Working, yes.

I'm religiously gluten, caffeine and sugar free. I also have created quite a long list of random foods that I react to ...it's never very easy! But it's better when you do start to feel a real difference, and know that your self control is paying off. :)

Fodmaps are forms of sugar found in food: lactose, fructose, oligosaccharrides, disaccharide, monosaccharides and a couple of others. Many ibs sufferers benefit from restricting their diet like that
