Members responded to someone newly diagnosed with fibromyalgia by sharing the reality that it is a chronic condition that typically does not go away, while also offering hope that quality of life can improve significantly through the right combination of treatments, lifestyle changes, and self-advocacy. Several members described strategies that have helped them manage symptoms, including yoga, stretching and balance exercises, working with pain clinics, and exploring online recovery programs, with one member noting that personal research has been more valuable than relying solely on doctors for information. A recurring theme was maintaining hope and actively fighting for better health, even while acknowledging frustration with limited pharmaceutical options and the long journey ahead.

Some people say it will never go away. I'm not sure if I believe them. I thought I did( about 4 months after dx). I thought I needed to "accept" it. Now I'm not so sure. I think maybe I can get better. It's gonna take a while tho

Sorry but I've learned it's chronic. Although a good doctor, diet and exercise (I found yoga to be very helpful) can go a long way to a functioning happy lifestyle. Bless you on your journey.
