Members shared widely varied experiences with trazodone after someone's doctor switched them from Ambien, with many finding it helpful for sleep while others reported side effects including grogginess, dizziness, nausea, knee pain, headaches, and difficulty functioning the next day. Several members emphasized the importance of eating before taking trazodone to avoid stomach upset, with some sharing they eventually found relief by reducing their dose (often to 25-50 mg) or combining it with other supplements like magnesium and melatonin for better sleep quality. A recurring theme was the value of self-advocacy and honest communication with doctors about side effects, with members encouraging the original poster to adjust doses, try alternatives if needed, and trust their own body's response over sticking with a medication that doesn't work for them.

From what I read on the internet, the trazadone is harder to come off of than another old anti-depressant used for sleep, amitryptiline.

@A MyFibroTeam Member Sounds like enough trauma for a lifetime to me. So many of us do have traumatic early lives, I had several traumas from my teens through college.
