Members shared their experiences with burning skin pain and hypersensitivity, with many describing it as allodynia, a common fibromyalgia symptom where even light touch or clothing feels painful. Several members offered practical relief strategies, including applying cold moisturizer or oil to calm the nerves, taking cold showers or ice baths to temporarily shut off nerve signals, and one member recommended getting tested for small fiber neuropathy since approximately 40% of fibromyalgia patients have this treatable condition. A recurring theme was the challenge of distinguishing new symptoms from fibromyalgia flares and the importance of seeking medical evaluation while advocating for thorough examination rather than automatic dismissal.

You are right Danni100 they always say its nothing. But people with fibro always have to worry with new symptoms you never know . What if is something else and we just ignore it thinking that is just fibro. Thank you for advice

Just from personal experience, get tested for small fiber neuropathy. Approximately 40% of fibro patients have some degree of SFN. The test includes three tiny skin biopsies on the leg (painlessly done with a local anesthetic). SFN causes burning, tingling, numbness and can be treated.
