Hi all. I'm newly diagnosed as of a month ago. I'm having a hard time accepting the diagnosis. I just always have a fear that I'm going to die, so I always think the worst.
My current symptoms are:
One little spot on one toe feels numb, but isn't really numb. Almost feels like there is a hair wrapped around my toe.
A small patch on my forearm feels....burned? Sensitive? I can't really explain it. Just feels weird.
Do those sound like fibro symptoms?
Thanks for any info.

Members warmly welcomed someone newly diagnosed with fibromyalgia who was struggling with unusual sensations like numbness in one toe and sensitivity on their forearm, reassuring them that fibromyalgia is not life-threatening and that localized, unexplained sensations are common with the condition. Several members shared that anxiety often intensifies fibromyalgia symptoms, with some recommending medications like Cipralex that helped them manage constant worry, while others confirmed that numbness in hands, feet, and thighs is typical, though the hallmark of fibromyalgia remains widespread pain in pressure points, fatigue, and morning stiffness. A recurring theme was encouragement to stay positive, keep learning about the condition, lean on the community for support, and remember that while fibromyalgia brings many challenges, it's possible to adapt and still find joy in life.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, I loved your answer. I agree wholeheartedly. In the beginning, the diagnosis can be a shock, but as in anything with life, we learn to come to terms with it. Fostering an attitude of gratitude, like the poster says really does help, and saying hello to strangers (with a big smile) can make their (and your) day. There is nothing like a positive way of life when dealing with chronic pain. And when it overtakes you, its time to curl up and take a good long nap, or do whatever makes you feel good.

Hi, I know how hard is to get bad news about your health. And the fear of death is shared by a lot of people they hate even mentioning it. The good news is fibromyalgia isn't lethal. But it can be hard to live with. The sensation you describe? I wouldn't be surprised if they're related. I have numbness on the side of my right thigh. But I'm not a Dr. I pray things get easier for you.
