I am needing some insight. I saw my neurologist recently and he suggested I consider trying Naltrexone 4.5 mg. I did some research and found it's been used for fibro, chronic pain etc. Only last 4-5 hrs while you sleep and increases endorphins thus reducing pain. Has anyone had success with this? Thinking about getting off Savella also, not sure yet. Thanks. Oh has anyone tried cryotherapy?
I was on Savella and definitely did not like how I felt! Very stressed and full of like rage lol it was weird.
I have been taking naltrexone for about 6 weeks. The pain management doctor said I should notice pretty quick if it was helping. I think it is taking the edge off. One of the side effects can be weight loss.
I tried it several times but could not tolerate it. I made my anxiety go thru the roof and gave me severe diarrhea.
I don't know if the Naltrexone is working or if it is a combination of other factors that have made me feel better. I still have achy joints with changes in the weather, but I am probably also developing arthritis, so I don't count that against the Naltrexone. I have been feeling better, but I still have some tender spots that are really sore and annoying. I am going to keep trying it for another month. I would really like to have something that I could tell was improving my pain.
Yes, I took it for probably at lease 6 months. I never noticed a difference. I have fibro, but was prescribed it for an undiagnosed autoimmune disease. It was expensive and I was already on so many medications, so I decided I needed to wean off of some of them. I chose that with my dr's consent.
