It really bothers me that they dont take us seriously. Like I said earlier they think you're coming in there looking for drugs, when you honestly just want to feel better. If just for a little while. Doctors ought to be obligated to take refresher couurses, if we're going to be diagnosed with new illnesses.

When I worked in the ER and someone came in for sever pain we never send them home.
There are signs and certain things people say and do that we can spot drug seekers. Totally different then people that come in with actual pain.
The first thing we would do is is offer a non narcotic pain reliever. People with actual pain will gladly accept anything! While the drug seekers would have a fit! Yell and cause a scene and then off to the next ER.
If the non narcotic did not work we would always change it to something that would work for them and keep them there until their pain was under control. So cruel to turn someone away in aweful pain.

I had to go to the ER one evening after speaking with my PCP on the phone, (I was in severe pain, possibly dehydrated) anyway Doc tells me to go to the ER, I get there the Dr walks looks at me and says "What do you want me to do?" I tell him about the phone conversation between my PCP and I.... however before I had a chance to finish telling him what my symptoms were,He told me that he'd enough of my BullSh__ and I better stop drug seeking...
I called the hospital and My Doc the day ended being a direct admit for 2 weeks... Oh yea and the ER Dr lost his license cause it was determined that he in fact was the drug seeker and takin the strong narcotics that he said was for the patients...... I just Love Karma!!!!!
