Celebrex And Sulfa Drug Allergy

Celebrex And Sulfa Drug Allergy

Can you take Celebrex if allergic to sulfa drugs?

A MyFibroTeam Member said:

It is not a sulfa drug but shares a molecule that is the same. It is recommended to not use it if you are allergic to sulfa drugs.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, I'm allergic to Sulfa, but have had no problems while taking Celebrex. But, as MsFuffy said, best to check with your Doc..

I use to take celebrex & never had any issues even though I'm allergic to Septra which is a sulfa antibiotic. Everyone reacts differently so I'd talk to the Dr & decide if it's too risky to try or not. Hopefully this will help.

I have an allergy to Sulfa meds too. The only thing I've ever had with sulfa are antibiotics.
I took Celebrex a while back. Didn't notice anything adverse at that time. Of course I wasn't on all the meds I'm on today.
