Members shared mixed experiences regarding taking Celebrex with a sulfa drug allergy, with several reporting they had successfully taken it without problems despite their sulfa allergies, while others cautioned that Celebrex shares a similar molecule and could trigger reactions. Many community members emphasized the importance of consulting with both doctors and pharmacists before trying the medication, watching carefully for any signs of allergic reaction, and weighing the personal risk versus benefit. A recurring theme was the understanding that everyone reacts differently to medications, the value of pharmacist expertise in medication safety, and the reassurance that comes from hearing others' experiences while still prioritizing individual medical guidance.

It is not a sulfa drug but shares a molecule that is the same. It is recommended to not use it if you are allergic to sulfa drugs.

I use to take celebrex & never had any issues even though I'm allergic to Septra which is a sulfa antibiotic. Everyone reacts differently so I'd talk to the Dr & decide if it's too risky to try or not. Hopefully this will help.
