I live in California where the weather is as perfect as it can be so i won't move. The cold does hurt and the heat drains to the point where i black out so the weather has actually stopped me from moving to other climates. This winter was bad my heater was broken and my pain was so bad i ran out of pain meds one month. I was on groupon getting extra massages and trying acupuncture which i recommend both.

I just did a bit of my own research on this very topic. To cut to the chase... Before I left MN for sunny Florida in January for an entire month, I thought a warmer climate was my answer. I was so hopeful, I needed something to change. Unfortunately after being there a month, the amount of benefit wasn't worth uprooting us.

The longer story...
I live in MN & knew the cold increased my pain. My parents rented a house in January in Florida. I work from home so I went & stayed with them for the entire month (missed my hubby) to see how my typical stress (work, life) impacted my pain level. All in all, I had less pain in FL. I did have a couple of light flares which would have been the same at home, just more intense.

I'm working with my neurologist to figure out the right combination & doses of medication, plus a good routine including stretching & stress management techniques. I think the treatment plan is key because things keep improving as we figure out what works best for me. And we get to keep our current life!

That's what happened for me, but I'm one person & different things work for different people.

I moved back to Arizona for family reasons but the fact that there are less storm systems here does help a lot. The majority of the year the air pressure is stable and while the monsoon season (July to Sept) has afternoon thunderstorms it is still not as bad as Utah where I lived before.
