Members responding to a question about multiple diagnoses revealed a striking pattern of overlapping conditions, with fibromyalgia commonly appearing alongside rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, degenerative disc disease, migraines, thyroid disorders, mental health conditions, and various forms of chronic pain affecting nearly every aspect of daily functioning. Several members shared practical coping strategies that help them navigate their conditions, including pacing activities carefully to avoid flare-ups, relying on heating pads and aqua therapy, pursuing low-energy hobbies like crocheting and quilting, and leaning heavily on SSDI benefits and supportive partners to reduce the pressure of working through debilitating symptoms. A recurring theme was the constant negotiation between pushing through pain to maintain some sense of normalcy versus honoring the body's need for rest, with many members describing how they've learned to adjust expectations, focus on what they can control like diet and stress reduction, and find meaning in small victories despite the daily struggle of managing multiple chronic conditions.

In addition to the fibromyalgia, I have rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, degenerative disc disease with 13 bulging discs and 1 herniated disc, spinal stenosis, Raynaud's syndrome, chronic tendinitis in my shoulder, osteoarthritis, and acid reflux. My boyfriend is very supportive and I am on SS disability. I do what I can, and I know enough not to overdo it; otherwise I am down for several days.

I have fibro and necrotic hips. I think the necrotic hips have made my fibro flares last longer. I am having total hip replacement on my right hip next month them hopefully 6 months after my rehab is finished I will have total hip replacement on my left hip I'm hoping being in less constant a pain will help my fibro that is what my doctor's are hoping for also

It affects my life by the fact I do not go out except with friends or to appointments. I am on SSDI since 2014 I am in constant pain limiting things like house cleaning a simple walk etc. I fight Fibromyalgia constantly because of all the other things I am often suicidal and fight againest those feelings daily. My wieght is outta controll as I am on three medications that cause wieght gain and even tho I try to eat right I have gained 110lbs in 2 years. Which causes me depression and anxiety.

I have RA, Type 2 Diabetes, Fibro and Degenerative Disc Disease, It makes daily life a struggle but I just do what I can when I can!! Thankfully I have a wonderful husband who understands and supports me. I am also on SSD so I don't have to worry about working. I also own about 5 heating pads lol.
