Gabapentin. I've been on it since I found out side effect weight gain. I didn't realize but maybe it I did n cut my dose back a bit a while ago I could have handled it. But for me it helped a lot

Also never tried lyrica cause it's gabapentins big sister n definitely causes weight gain

i started on 100 mg of Lyrica twice a day. I was already on 30 mg of Cymbalta for depression and anxiety. Within a short time, I got severe brain fog, thinning hair, blurred vision and toher side effects, including substantial weight gain. However, I felt much better. I finally told the doc that the side effects were too bad, especially the brain fog. He cut the dose to 100 mg and I still had pain but side effects not bad. Now I'm on the 100 mg of Lyrica still, but take 90 of Cymbalta and that has helped with pain. Less side effects. I understand it varies with every person, so talk to your doc and/or pharmacist.

I have not found anything that helped enough to live with the side effects but I have high intolerance to many meds. I think it depends on each individual.

@A MyFibroTeam Member: Thanks for answering my question. I hope that your Dr. can prescribe some other medication for you soon to help with your pain. It's hard to understand why one fibro. medication will help one person a lot, and not another one. Take care. Hugs.

Hi there, I currently take Tapentadol 250mg SR(slow release) one AM and one PM....they are 12hour tablets but never last the 12hours, usually about 8! They are fab though when they are effective.......I was also given Oramorph for the few hours till next meds due 'break through pain' I think she called it? I requested change to codeine which was bad idea as oramorph worked better.. I also have Pregabalin MR 300mg x2 1AM 1PM......these are the best ones was on gabapentin for a while but they didn't cut it so she gave these which I take max dosage so no room for any tweaking so to speak! I am on so many meds for different ailments its difficult to balance them and get the best ones. I have Pramipexole(mirapexin) for RLS.....hope to find right combo asap everyone is different so all need personal plans to suit their needs.
