Massage And Alidonia
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have seen quite a few ppl on here posting about massage therepy and how well you all feel after. I am looking for any people with this symptom (Alidonia) (pain to touch, painful skin) that have or continue to use massage therepy as treatment. I would love to try massage therepy but I am terrified of the being touched and rubbed and worked on that would take me days and days and days to get over. If anyone could ease my fears or let me know how they can get and get through these kinds of… read more

Hi
I thought a massage was something that would make me feel better -couldn't move for 3 days!
Only hot stone treatment or a treatment like warm mud was helpful. Also, a flotation pool with dead sea salt was wonderful. Having Allodynia is another blow on top of the list of symptoms us Warriors deal with. I have spent thousands of pounds on practitioners, potions, lotions, machines, gadgets, beds, pillows , clothing, footwear and even cars. I'm not cured -just coping better. A Physiotherapist (one of many ) finally taught me some exercises tailored for just me to strengthen my core. This has been very good for me. I hope you find some regime that suits you very soon. Sending hugs.xx

I have had massages that helped but you have to find someone who actually understands fibro to work on you, that may be hard to find. It would be worth it if it worked but as with everything it could be painful looking. Hard to say prayers and hugs

I cannot do massage either. Feels good at the time, but I can't move for days afterward. Even if they're doing softly.

I could not stand for anyone to rub around on me. David tries to help me feel better and offers to rub my back and I can not tolerate anyone touching me.

The floats work well but can be very expensive to maintain for long term relief. look on groupon for coupons for the float tanks. I had to stop pt due to the skin pain. Acupuncture helped to end most of it. Very bad flares will make it worse but most of the tiime it is small areas instead of my whole body. Then my doc added OMT
