Is It The Fibro Or Is It The Medication?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this game show-esque dilemma, where you aren't sure if a new symptom is the fibro or just a side effect from a medication. So I'd like to know what symptoms that everybody aren't quite sure of, maybe we can figure these things out together. I personally can't tell headaches apart, is it fibro or is it the meds?

Well while the doctor's are trying to fix a leak in the plumbing sometimes they burn the house down. Sometimes medicine does more harm than good but we honestly can't tell. I'm not 100% sure if side effects of medicine stay with us or go away. I don't think any of us want to get sicker while wanting to get better, it's almost like a catch 22. Maybe I'm reading into it too much, but it's certainly something to think about. I started taking a new medicine and for once haven't noticed any major side effects, but I'm not sure if there is something going on, will I really know? Maybe fibro has made me paranoid lol

I have increasing trouble concentrating, absorbing information, and forgetting things that are worse some days more than others.i also have depression, and I take a ton of medications...so the symptoms could be from depression, fibro fog, or meds. Clueless. Good question!

I understand your dilemma, my muscles in my chest tighten up some times and you can feel like your having a heart attack. I do not have high blood pressure but I do not know all of the hidden conditions related to Fibro. It has happened so many times that now I know the symptoms, but if this ever happens to you, please seek medical help because the symptoms are similar.

I had once made a list with 4 different categories : Weight - Age - Fibo - Liver (had to have part of liver removed, pre fibro), to try to determine what was the cause of my ailments. For me, most of my ailments can go in each one of these categories (except liver).
My dr thought most was becuz of weight. But I wasnt overweight until after having fibro.
I hope u have better luck trying to figure it out :-)
