My Dentist has studied Fibromyalgia because of me. I am his only patient with it in our small town. He told me that it is normal for patients with Fibro to have dry mouth. Some medications we are taking cause dry mouth. When the molar started hurting for the third time, I said ," forget this just pull it!"

When I was in Cleveland Clinic they warned me early on in my diagnosis that taking extra care of my teeth was important. I understand better now than I did when they told me, because I wake up many mornings that my teeth are literally stuck to the inside of my mouth from the dry mouth of the Sjogren's and Lupus too. I think there are so many common denominaters with these auto immune diseases.
I was diagnosed with Sjogren' Syndrome, which is very similar to Lupus and I have it too, when I was at Cleveland Clinic they discovered the fibro, I had never heard of it, but they said it was not unusual to have it along with Lupus and or Sjogren's. I also was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and they are all auto immune disorders. There is quite a bit on the internet about Sjogren's. It is directed at your saliva glands, dry eyes, and inflammation of your joints, and it attacks you lungs, heart, or kidneys. I had to have my tear ducts plugged to keep the moisture that I put in my eyes in the morning will stay. Good luck checking it out.
I lost a lot of my teeth from either fibro or the meds. They had become very weak. The fillings would fall out first, my tooth would turn black n decay, n then the tooth would just fall out right in my plate while i was eating. Becuz I didnt have dental I couldnt afford to get them fixed, I lost all my upper molers. I had recently lost my front tooth cuz i couldnt afford to get the cap after the root canal. I get real embarrassed n ashamed when it comes to my teeth. They look like i was a drug addict. Before i got sick i was blessed with perfect teeth. U r lucky to have found a dentist interested in how ur illness affects ur teeth.
I have lost 6 teeth, mostly molars. They just started breaking. My crown & tooth just fell out. Dryness of mouth is terrible, I also carry water with me.
My dentist said that fibro can cause neuralgia in the jaw from a bad extraction. I have suffered with this for ten years. Ani inflammatory. Drugs will help, but I have a kidney disease so I had to get off of my anti inflammatory
