Members connected over the frustrating experience of swollen, painful tongues that feel burnt even without hot food exposure, with many recognizing it as a common but poorly understood symptom of fibromyalgia. Several members shared that their doctors have had few answers, though one mentioned a steroid shot helped temporarily with swelling, and others noted that scalloped tongue edges could signal hypothyroidism or that deep cracks and mouth sores might point toward conditions like lupus or trigeminal neuralgia. A recurring theme was the search for relief and understanding, with members trying remedies like vitamins and colloidal silver while wondering if the burning sensation stems from medications, allergies, or simply fibromyalgia itself.

Well how in the heck do you get over? Is it allergic reaction to our meds?

@A MyFibroTeam Member, I didn't mean to laugh but I did as I read your little story! That burnt tongue feeling is definitely from Fibro cause it happens all the time with me for no rhyme nor reason! I couldn't believe when I first read about everyone that had the same sore tongue!! It has to be a part of Fibro!!

Did you ever get over that tongue thing? Mine is swollen and hurts. Feels like tongue is burnt. Think it's an allergic reaction from a med. trying vitamins and silver water in case it's bacterial or viral.

My Rheumatologist thinks I have the beginnings of Lupus but the blood work doesn't support it yet. I have off and on sores in my mouth and nose. The jaw pain that I had was from trigeminal neuralgia.
