I am struck by how few men there are on this site. Is fibromyalgia more prevalent in women or even do guys diagnosed with fibromyalgia actually have fibromyalgia?

It is predominant in women but I am sure there are just people that have not yet been diagnosed. At least you will find support here and that is really what you need!!
A lot of auto immune diseases are more prevalent in women but men are also affected, although small in numbers. I don't know if a lot of men just don't bother to get diagnosed. I think a lot of people give up because it takes a lot of doctors and a lot of tests to figure out what disease you have.
Welcome. Fibro is diagnosed more in women than men, not sure why. I think women are more apt to go to the doc and I think overall it is easier for women to talk about how we feel and asks questions then men. But we are all here for each other. Lor
i am new here, yes i agree it takes a lot of doctors and me many years to find out i have fibro, i can understand as with men they don't like going to the docs and push through the pain and being so drained and feeling down, hope more men open up and push for answers good luck feel well soon
Fibro IS more prevalent in women. But we know that some men suffer too.
For all the single women and men if you meet someone new got do you tell them you have fibromyalgia?
