Members connected over the shared struggle of sciatica pain, describing how prolonged sitting, standing, or even household activities like mopping can trigger discomfort that forces them to constantly shift positions throughout the day. Several members shared strategies that have brought relief, including stretching exercises, heat pads, chiropractic adjustments, pain medications like ibuprofen or Vicodin, and steroid injections, though one member noted they can no longer receive injections due to blood thinners. A recurring theme was the difficulty of finding any single position that remains comfortable for long and the need to keep moving, rest frequently, and find individual combinations of treatments that work.

Oh I do and it's horrible. I go to the chiropractor religiously every month and if it starts getting really bad before my next appointment I just call and I go in that day. Now with having fibro it hurts like hell when he is actually adjusting me but afterwards I feel great!

Only relief I get is my electric heatpad that straps around my neck&waist so reduces pain on shoulders&back.
As for sitting 2long..no cure...if I sit any length of time the pain atarts in my neck..shoulders..spine & into my butt....then spasms start.
Keep moving from hip to hip. Stretch legs...crack knees & just change position..

I don't have the answer for your question but if anyone has any suggestions I would like to know. I have a problem with walking and sitting but not as bad when I sit.

I started with shots from the local Pain Center. They would hold for a while. Then surgery followed - that lasted a few years - psiatica combined with arthritis is painful, so I feel for you!
Sitting on a hard chair, feet shoulder width apart & reaching for the floor & holding there for about a minute helped, especially when done immediately after an activity. Still does for muscle pain in my case!
Hugs to all!!

sorry, hit the wrong key. a saddle embolis in my lungs. They cant do the procedure while i was on coumadin. Since i went to the cardiologist, he put me on xarelto and said i will be on it for some time. i read on the patient insert that i should not have any kind of lumbar injections due to possible internal bleeding. so i guess i am stuck with the pain.
