Just came home from meeting my new Neurologist and he said we have exhausted all the meds but this Zonegran and Botox injections. He is having his staff see if my insurance will pay for it, since I avg 5/week. Just wanted to know if anyone else has tried them and would like to hear about their experience..

Boy do I . I have a migraine everyday ranging from a 5-7 daily pain. I have tried Botox years ago and it made them worse. But everyone is different. I've heard good things about it. Everything is worth a try, it could be a success for you. Nothing beats a failure but a try. I'll be πŸ™πŸΎπŸ™πŸΎπŸ™πŸΎFor you. Let us know how it goes.

I found out by accident that what I take for restless legs is also used for migraine prevention. My headaches are no where near as servere as they were and less frequent

I have taken Zonegran for 8 yrs for seisures It has worked really well for that, unless I get really stressed and then I still have them. I also took the Botox shots for headaches and it was a miracle. The only thing I will advise you to be careful of is getting any around the neck region. My throat began to get where it was hard to swallow. You might want to watch that really close.

I have anywhere from 15 to 20 days a month. Major migraines about 10-12. But I have had a stroke and something like 20-25% of my cerebellum died so a botox injection is scary for me. I'm the one in a million that things go wrong, so getting a shot in the neck and and praying I don't have a reaction is not a chance I'm willing to take. I've tried every migraine med on the market none worked. Pain meds don't work, I've tried to go in to the ER to get a big girl pain med and they gave me tramadol it sped me up like I had to keep moving real fast, so they gave me benadryl to slow me down, it made my BP go up.. So yeah I'd rather deal with the pain in a dark room with the resolution on the TV and the comp down until it goes away!
I wish you luck in finding a way
