I used to have a very hard head. You could pull and pull on my hair as a child and it wouldn't hurt a bit! 3 years ago I cut my hair so short I didn't use a brush for about 4 months. Yes!!!! Fibro causes a lot of sensitivities. I have extreme scalp tenderness. And skin. Sometimes it feels like tight rubber bands all over it. Will be really bad after salon visit. Try using a calming shampoo like Shea Moisture Raw Shea Chamomile & Argon Oil Baby head to toe wash and shampoo. It has frankincense and myrrh which calm. Love this stuff! π
I've noticed my scalp has become so sensitive lately too. It hurts so much today. I feel like I've had a tight ponytail all day, except my hair was down loose! I recently got it cut hoping it would release pain but it's even more painful. I've noticed patches of psoriasis on my scalp also. I've always suffered from dandruff but this so much worse. I can't believe how many symptoms fibro has and how it can wreak havoc on every inch of your body.
I actually hate putting cocount oil on my hair. I tried it because I've had client's that say they love it (I am a hairdresser) it makes my thin hair so limp and greasy! I do love it for my skin though.. I like how it doesn't leave a film like lotion or cream does.
I am experiencing scalp super dryness since Fibro. I've used coconut oil, but it doesn't help. I'm guessing the nerves in our scalps are just as irritated as those in neck, back, hips, shoulders, and legs.
