Members connected over experiencing unexpected full-body itching, with many surprised to learn it could be fibro-related, as the sensation often feels like bugs crawling on the skin and tends to worsen at night. Several members shared practical relief strategies, including antihistamines like Claritin or hydroxyzine, moisturizers such as coconut oil or Cerave cream, gentle products like Dove sensitive skin wash, and dietary changes like eliminating citrus or artificial sweeteners. A recurring theme was the importance of resisting the urge to scratch since it can cause welting or bleeding, with members encouraging each other to rub gently and stay hydrated while experimenting with different treatments to find what works best.

Itching comes by way of eczema for me. I use Aveeno baby wash, Dove nutrium body wash together. I also apply Cerave' Body Cream after showering. I take Clarinex, Singulair, and Allegra every day. I take Clarinex in Am, Allegra int he evening and singulair at night. I also get allergy injections every month. I did figure out what was setting most of it off for me by eliminating all citrus, tomato and any peppers from my diet. It made a huge difference. I do not eat any Stevia, nurtrasweet, or splenda. I can handle cane sugar, corn syrup and xylitol. good luck on figuring out what is making you so itchy if it is solvable. I know that the nerves cause some of it. Please rub gently and do not scratch..it makes it worse.

Oh my I thought it was just me, I have sensitivite skin. But since fibro my I have been itching much more. I had tries tons of different thing and finally I had found a regime that works.

Head and shoulders dry scalp shampoo and conditioner. Applying coconut oil after shower. Dove sensitivite skin body wash. Okay sensitive skin face wash. Olay sensitive skin/SPF 15 lotion for face ( also helps with clearing unwanted skin blemishes /spots. Vaseline lotion(yellow bottle). It took me years to come up with this.

Do either of you take a pain medication? That can cause itching. Also, thyroid problems can cause extreme itching. I forget if it means too much or too little hormone. Hope this helps a bit. Have a good night.
