I've been on gabapentin which worked well I just gained a lot of weight so I switch to Cymbalta n it makes me so tired I sleep through my alarm.

I wanted to know anyone's experience with savella. Cause that the last one to try.

Members shared varied experiences with Savella as an alternative to Cymbalta and gabapentin, with some finding success after pushing through initial nausea (often managed with Zofran) while others discontinued it due to nightmares, dizziness, or insurance barriers. Several members described Cymbalta's sleepiness as temporary, suggesting it may balance out over time or could be managed by taking it earlier in the evening, though weight gain remained a common concern across multiple medications. A recurring theme was that fibromyalgia treatment is deeply individual, with many members trying multiple options before finding the right combination.

Cymbalta works well for me. Improves my mental state and eases my pain to bearable levels. It took a bit to adjust to the sleepiness but now I'm no more or less sleepy on it than I was off it.

Best of luck in whichever route you go!

Love and light,

Jane

I take cymbalta and neurotin. The he neurotin does help my pain. I tried to go down to one pill three times a day but the pain got worse. I now take two three times a day. I was taking three pills three times a day. If I missed pills, I actually felt sick. I suppose that was like an addiction. Neurotin is to me a really heavy duty drug affecting the brain. I hate taking it, but it does help. Generic is gabependant (?) for neurotin.

You have to titrate up on savella to a dose of 50mg twice a day. The nausea for me was the worst. I lost 10lbs in 2 weeks. I'd gained almost 25 from the Lyrica which failed me miserably. If you can get through the nausea from the savella like I did by taking Zofran with it and trying to eat small amounts of food you may notice a slight difference in how you feel. I had high hopes for it, needless to say I was disappointed.

Hi,
I've just recently started on Gabapenten, took a while to get used to it and build up the dose but it's so much better than Cymbalta for me as it made me very drowsy and fairly useless most of the time.
I'm still on the tramadol as well as well as paracetamol, trouble is I keep forgetting to take things as my memory is so rubbish these days.

I'm not sure if it's the meds or the inability to do as much exercise that's making me gain weight(probably a bit of both ),

I would like to try some medical marajiwana but I have no idea how to obtain some to try it .

I have also experienced the lump in the throat , it's not nice and a bit worrying, sometimes it feels like a disk in my neck is pushing into my throat and it makes it difficult to swallow.

I did really well on savella until my insurance wouldn't pay for it
