I Have A Question For Everyone.

I had shingles at about age 11, of course, there were no chickenpox shots. I was researching more on Fibro testing and this came up. If you have had Chicken Pox at a young age it can lead to other diseases later, this was the one that drew my attention because it is a nerve damaged disease the treatments are almost exact to Fibromyalgia. Now even tho I have fibro, I have a lot of flare ups but the older I get the more of my nerve pain back
I had issues at the beginning with nerve and… read more

I do have some PTSD, I think it started after the Gulf War, it was probably the most stressful time of my life. No mental illness, though I have a grandson with Bipolar Disorder and another who is Autistic. I agree we definitely don't do enough for people with mental disorders or problems. It's up to their insurance to pay for part of their care, but it's not nearly enough so they tend to go without. I help with what I can but am looking to the future and can see my arthritis in my neck and back issues along with my fibromyalgia will probably cause me to go out on disability long before I reach retirement. I have 8 more years to work until retirement and don't think my fibro is going to let me get there. Every year now there is another problem added to my already long list of problems. It's a wonder I work now. I work 12hr shifts, 2 on 2 off to get through it. 36hrs a week is all I can manage and that's getting harder and harder. Sorry I got on a roll.

I had a really severe case of Chicken Pox when I was about seven, even getting them in my ears, and eyes. I also had Shingles in my late 20's which was pretty awful too and am prone to cold sores all of which are the same virus.
I didn't realise there was a link to the Fibro though. I have had Fibro for many years. I am going to have a look into this. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

I have had chicken pox as a kid. Also several sexual assaults starting around age 13. I do suffer from PTSD along with chronic depression. I got the shingles vaccine , but read recently it can be only 50% effective. Thought I had shingles recently, but turned out a had a yeast infection on my skin. Just got it healed up because you need a cream called ketzole to heal and I didn't go to the doctor right away.

I had chicken pox at age 2 and then sexual assault as a child. Docs think i have severe PTSD for other reasons which has been linked to Fibro. They say Fibro comes from severe depression and other mental health issues. I was always strong enough to get through all my issues without help. Lol or was I?
