Has Anyone Tried Electric Shock Therapy?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Just curious if anyone has tried this as a treatment option for Fibro? I've tried taking Savella, Gabapentin, Cymbalta and Lyrica. The only one I tolerated well was Lyrica but it didn't work for me. Thanks!

I would suggest you look at a more homeopathic or natural remedies to treat what symptoms you have. I have tried just about every medication that was specifically for Fibromyalgia. Against my own good judgement I tried the "fibromyalgia" specific drugs. Having seen too many commercials over the years from law offices. Suing pharmaceutical companies for such and such medication. I refuse to take new meds for this reason alone. I firmly believe that the cure for fibromyalgia won't be found in western medicine. I started drinking turmeric tea this spring and it really helped with my pain level. Please look into a topical rub and take epsom salt baths to see if it relieves your pain.

TENS units use a form of electric shock to reduce pain. It is generally well tolerated with no side effects. Chiropractors and physical therapists use them, and home units are available. I am currently undergoing "dry needling." It combines acupuncture with electrical stimulation. Just started treatment with physical therapist, so jury is still out.

@A MyFibroTeam Member you are so correct, a Trans-Electrical Nerve Stimulator is a very good suggestion. It is really helpful.

I have not considered electro shock therapy. I am currently in intensive outpatient therapy for depression and anxiety. Many of the fibro symptoms can lessen when the depression is treated successfully.
