Members shared genuine concern about blood clots from fibromyalgia-related inactivity, with one member recounting a serious hospitalization for clots in the leg and lungs that came unexpectedly despite being previously active. Several members offered practical prevention strategies, including taking daily baby aspirin, getting up to walk or stretch every 15 to 30 minutes, wearing compression socks, elevating legs above heart level, and watching for warning signs like swelling, warmth, knots behind the knee, or uneven leg size. A recurring theme was the importance of listening to your body, communicating concerns to your doctor without hesitation, and finding solidarity in a community that truly understands the exhausting reality of managing chronic pain and reduced mobility.

try and get up and walk some every 15 minutes . or get those socks to prevent blood clots and also try and keep your legs prop up above your heart ! they are mostly behind your knee , sometimes they are worm or hot ! you can feel them most of the time ,do not rub them as the can go to your brain or lungs ! also you check and see if your legs are the same size if not then you should watch out and be checked out ! never hurts to make sure all is well ! love , prayers oh so many prayers i send to you all , along with joy and happiness always michele

I take a baby aspirin daily, and I try to get up and walk, at least in the house about every half hour.. My inactivity is more due to my back injuries and the neuropathies in my feet and legs more than the fibro itself.. Because of the side effects I have from so many meds, I cant take anything for pain except ibuprophen and tylenol.

No, sorry it never accrued to me. I just do what I can when I can. I do leg stretches in the morning before getting out of bed..yes it's uncomfortable but warm up my joints.
Not sure if that helps sorry. πŸ™

Oh my dear sister, it is strange i was just going to write that i should pay all of you guy's for allowing me to be able to get a lot of stuff off my chest ! so vent all you want for i am all ears , to any and all that need to also get things out but really do not have someone to vent to ! or if they do they do not understand unless they walk a day in are shoe's ! how about Sertraline have you tried that ! you must be careful with a lot of the antidepressants as they will help you , but they can also be bad for you also for they mess with your memory and you may not get it back even if you are able to get off them some day ! plus when you go to the E.R or a new DR they see that you are on so many antidepressants they look at and treat you like your crazy ! i had a DR ask my about my depression and i looked him straight in the face and told him look i am not jumping up and down with joy and glee when i am having pain , i am only depressed due to my pain not because of my life and i do not like that my chart has depression on it !
like i said i am all ears for whom ever needs to vent. GOD knows i have vented enough to all ! i thank getting things off your chest or out of your mind seems to help ! besides are we not suppose to be here for one another !prayers i send to you!along with the PEACE that JESUS left for us along with joy happiness and two ears love ya your sister michele

I feel the same way! I'm not on fibromyalgia meds now, I tried them years ago. I am on a lot of antidepressants and mood stabilizers. I couldn't take cymbalta because it caused suicidal thoughts. I worry about the long term side effects. I've had fibromyalgia for 18years. It's been getting worse lately. I can't seem to find a doctor who specializes in my area. Thanks for letting me vent!
