Hello: I would like to know if any of you are taking another approach besides medications? I have heard horrific things about the medications used to treat Fibromyalgia and choose not to take the risk. Please let me know if anyone has any success with any alternatives.
Thank you,
Robbin
I work in pharmacy and I'm a firm believer in medication, but honestly, in my experience (and in the opinion of my rheumatologist), exercise is the most important thing. It doesn't have to be real, structured exercise, it doesn't need to be in a gym, just try to move every day. I was doing really well at exercising every day -- usually it was just making sure I walked a certain number of steps -- and I found that everything was so much easier. My bad pain days were so much easier when I was more active.
Malic acid and magnesium supplements
Vitamin D...a must have.....
Go to Prohealth.com type in fibromyalgia...
I totally agree. ////Even if you don't feel like it, you should try and go for a walk. I feel more energised on some days after a walk, and sometimes I feel crap after a walk, but at least I gave it a go, because on the days it helps, it REALLY helps...
Hi, I have not gone yet, but have heard that Salt bath Spas are great for us, and acupuncture! I could not use Lyrica, Gambapenten, ... bearing the Cymbalta/generic. for now...
All I can say is that for me, the Lyrica has been my Best Friend.. Thanks
