I was wondering if anyone has had the shingles vaccine and if so, what type of reaction did you have? Did it improve your fibromyalgia, or did it worsen your condition?
I got the Shingrix 1st dose last week. A sore arm, no swelling or redness but I feel amazing which is bizarre. All my 18years of fibro pain is barely noticeable. Prior to this I couldn't sleep through the night without waking in agonising hip or back pain. Curious to say the least
I had the shingles vaccine over a week ago. Let me start by saying I’m very sensitive to new medications. Later that day I was high as a kite, while at work, my blood pressure went up and my throat tightened. My company made me take an ambulance to the hospital. All that settled down and then the pain and brain fog set in. I haven’t been back to work other then a few hours. The pain I could power through but the not being able to think is the worst obstacle. I’m scared how long this will last. Doing all I can to help it along. I’d probably get the 2nd shot if it was just the side effects of the day to avoid a shingles outbreak but not with the fibro! Better luck to others!!!
I got the Shingles shot two days ago. Sorry that I got it. Besides my arm being painful, my fibro has flared up terribly. I will not get the second booster shot. I can hardly walk without pain.
I recently had the Shingrix vaccine and had a terrible flare up of my FM. The next day I was in bed all afternoon with severe pain. The effects took several days to subside, back to my usual just annoying FM. You are supposed to get a second Shingrix, but I am too scared to do it.
BTW, I have had shingles and it is miserable. My husband had it on his face, threatening his eye. The virus inflamed the nerve to his inner ear, and he had a few months of vertigo. It’s no picnic. So balance the risks and benefits for your own situation.
I am reading this and making an interesting correlation between the onset of my fibro and CFS, and the administration of Zostavax in 2015. But, of course, there are so many variables, it is difficult to assume causation. I also had three ortho surgeries that year. I so wish my doctor would help (believe) me. ❤️
