Hi everyone. It's almost 1am and I was laying in bed thinking about my appointment tomorrow with my therapist. She absolutely thinks my fibro is a result of trauma. And I've noticed many of you mentioning how you noticed the symptoms of fibro after an accident and such. So the next thing I'm wondering is does the intensity of the pain/symptoms coincide with the degree the of trauma experienced? I.e. A fender bender as supposed to an accident where an er visit was required.
I believe it is. Not sure if mine started in mid60's after a viral infection Or, 1979 after an auto accident, had hairline fracture of pelvis. I also believe stress played a role. I was diagnosed in 1996. I will soon be 74' ,not sure will have any answers in my lifetime. But there has been progress sinc 96π
my injuries caused mine, my brain forgot to switch of the pain, im now trying energy medicine
Diagnosed in 2011 shortly after a very stressful time. Then in 2014 I was diagnosed with a rare cancer-Medullary thyroid cancer. And had to have major neck surgery. After surgery I was and 5 years later am in a flare up. Fibro got so much worse after neck surgery
I believe my fm was triggered by stress from divorce, then an auto accident in 1978, suffered fractured pelvis. I'm 74, and sadly my flare ups seem to last longer with age AND added stress. Loss of my husband after a long illness, other stresses of being alone. I pray everyday for strength. I believe God has a plan for me, I don't understand why FM, but am praying to continue to trust that He will get me thru the day. They are not easy, depression is very bad right now. God bless all of you. ππ
Hi Victoria, I can't say that my Fibro is the result of a trauma specifically. Maybe, I have suppressed the issue so much that I no longer relate the two. I do believe that continual and prolonged physical, emotional, and mental stress are definitely contributors to many illnesses including Fibro.
